WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE FOR “NO REASON”

dThe group No Reason originates from Galesburg, Illinois and performs atmospheric, folk-pop pieces from a diverse range of artists including Jackson Browne, David Bowie, REM, Radiohead, Cat Stevens, Crowded House and Crosby Stills Nash and Young, to name just a few. No Reason also performs original compositions. Two part harmonies are sustained by arrangements that include acoustic guitars, viola, and subtle, hand percussion.  The founding musicians of No Reason (Jon Wellerdieck: guitar, vocals and viola; and Dan Yasenko: vocals, percussion and guitar) perform material spanning four decades and can be enjoyed by a listening audience of almost any age.

The addition of Jim Lindberg (resophonic guitar) and Tammy Rankin (vocals and mandolin) to the group has added depth and detail to the ensemble’s sound.  Both Lindberg’s and Rankin’s fondness for traditional and bluegrass music has added an “alt country” flavor to the playlist.  Lindberg’s playing style ranges from earthy and time-honored interpretations of traditional and popular music, to fiery, wailing solos that capture the intensity and angst of Neil Young at his electric-best.  Rankin’s vocals, which alternate from pure and gently-lilting, to bluesy and insistent, never fail to inspire and move. Rankin’s mandolin adds drive and brightens the overall feel of the group, just as it brightens the perspective of any listeners within earshot.   

No Reason performs regularly at community functions such as Galesburg’s Art in the Park, Relay for Life, and Café in the Park.  No Reason can also be seen on Wednesday evenings performing at the musical incubator of Galesburg, Illinois: Galesburg Unplugged with Charlie Hayes, at TheSeminary Street Pub.

No Reason also appears regularly at The Rhythm Kitchen in Peoria, Illinois, The Prairie Inn, The Seminary Street Pub, Vintages Winery, Budde’s Pizza, Spirits & Live Music, and Olive’s Martini Bar, all of which are located in Galesburg, Illinois.
